What
does Medical Match know about Resumes?
If you are
looking for a medical position in the Denver, Colorado area, Medical
Match is an excellent FREE resource. We keep ongoing communications
with hundreds of medical offices. After years in the medical staffing
arena we know an effective resume can move you from the masses
of non-qualified applicants to a selected group of finalists.
Keys
to an effective resume:
For general
staffing, administrators do not have time to read long and wordy
resumes. They will sort and prioritize candidates whose resumes
easily show the skills, experience and/or education in their price
range.
For education,
professional and administrative positions, a CV, "curriculum
vitae" will emphasize education, employment history and
publications in detail. A CV may run several pages long.
Although
very nice when mailed, fancy paper with borders, marble veining,
or textures do not fax well. Plain white backgrounds are best.
Many times we will receive resumes which have been copied many
times and are almost illegible. The impression is careless resume
= careless person. Send clean copies. Try email. Emailed resumes
are very legible.
Organization,
correct spelling, and an easy to read type style (not script)
reflects clear thinking. Divide one page into sections:
-
Accurate

-
Very
simple OBJECTIVE

Nothing
creates more suspicion than time gaps in a resume, Don't worry
about your age; a good interviewer is going to figure it out
anyway. Each office will choose the candidate who fits their
needs and cultures best. Some want trainees, others want experience.
We protect
our clients with business references and Colorado criminal background
checks. Since employees can be fired for falsifying information
on a resume or application anyway, be honest from the beginning.
